Henry and Susan Samueli founded the Samueli Foundation in 1999, shortly after Broadcom went public. Overnight, they had resources they never imagined they’d have and were determined to spend the rest of their lives giving back.
You can read more about Henry and Susan’s philanthropic intentions here.
Centering well-being at the heart of medical education and clinical care through large-scale investments in integrative health
Expanding STEM opportunities to those who have historically been excluded from the field
Ensuring local foster children and disadvantaged youth have access to world-class education in their community
Building beautiful infrastructure so that Jewish people and those who love them have safe, vibrant places to congregate and have fun together
Supporting various cultural, academic, and direct service organizations in California and Israel
Opening doors for all people to access physical experiences on ice, by building an expansive network of ice rinks and learn-to-play hockey programs
In 2023, Henry and Susan decided to further accelerate their giving over the next decade. We updated our mission, vision, values, and philanthropic approach to reflect:
Invest
Support catalytic community forces whose innovations yield a higher quality of life and more sustainable future for everyone.
Unite
Cultivate multisector cooperation that generates the will and the ways to achieve lasting, equitable community well-being.
Model
Inspire adaptation by other communities to scale the impact of proven programs.
Our new logo provides a visual reminder of what we stand for.
The abstract orange mosaic pays homage to the place we love – Orange County. It also displays our belief that we are most effective when different things unite in pursuit of shared goals.
The six components of the logo represent our values - Integrity, Curiosity, Gratitude, Creativity, Empathy and Trust - and merge to form a six-pointed star at the center of our mark, recognizing the Samueli family’s Jewish heritage and inspiration for giving.
A friendlier, more modern, and bolder presentation better positions us to serve as a galvanizing, unifying force for Orange County as well as the organizations and causes we support.
The shift in colors signals our desire for more connection and collaboration with the existing constellation of Samueli family-backed for-profit and nonprofit organizations, each working in their own way toward achieving our vision of well-being for all.
We are grateful to Su Hale and her firm, Hale Design, for their phenomenal work creating our new logo.
